Representatives of the Miami Hurricanes flew to Boston to talk with the Harvard coach Tommy Amaker Monday, sources told ESPN.com's Andy Katz, but he decided to remain with the Crimson.

"I am appreciative of and flattered by the interest shown in me by other fine universities, but I am proud and honored to represent Harvard," Amaker said in a statement released by the school. "I look forward to continuing my efforts to teach, lead and serve at this great institution."

University Of Miami Courting Amaker For Head Position

Miami officials flew to Boston on Monday to meet with coach Tommy Amaker, according to the Miami Herald.

Amaker, a former Duke player and Mike Krzyzewski disciple, led Harvard to a co-Ivy League championship and missed the NCAA Tournament when Princeton hit a desperation shot in the playoff.

Amaker appears to be UM’s top target in the search to replace Frank Haith, who left last week for the University of Missouri.

The offer is said to be roughly $1.1 million for five years.
